It’s November, and the holiday season is knocking at our doors. This time for warm sweaters, pumpkin pie, attempting to stay dry in the rain, and family gatherings can be hectic. We’d like to take a few moments to help bring peace of mind with your finances so you can focus on your loved ones.
End of Year Tax Planning
Our end-of-year tax consultations are an excellent way to ensure you are stepping into 2025 with success. Together, we will review your income and expenses over 2024 and forecast what your tax obligations are. From there, we can offer recommendations that may reduce your tax burden – such as potential estimated payments, important business purchases that can be used as a write off, and even investment opportunities that you can make pre-tax with our in-house Financial Advisory services. These chances to impact your taxes must be completed by December 31, 2024, and our calendar is filling fast, so we encourage you to book your appointment today!
Changes to ShareFile
We know the security of your personal identification is important to you. It’s important to us as well. Keeping your cyber security in mind, we are making changes with how our client records are kept here at Wolfe.
One change you might have already noticed is that ShareFile now requires that you use 2FA (multi-factor authentication), just like your bank does. This is another layer of security to help ensure that the right person is getting access to your documents and the wrong person does not. Passwords will also need to be changed periodically. If you need help with a password reset, just let us know and we can help.
Beginning January 1, 2025, all files and documents uploaded to ShareFile will be deleted after 90 days. ShareFile is a secure temporary document sharing site and not intended for permanent records storage.
What does this mean for you? We ask that you access your ShareFile portal before December 31, 2024, and download your tax returns to your own storage device for your records. If you are unable to do so before the documents are removed from ShareFile, Wolfe does keep copies of your tax returns and supporting documentation for 5 years in a separate secure environment. If you ever need a copy, contact us and we will upload it to your ShareFile where it will be available for 90 days.

We know that sometimes it’s just easier to send a text, especially when you are on the go. We encourage you to add our text number: 503-512-0998 to our contact on your phone. Soon, we will be sending out invitations for all our clients to accept our communications by text. When you see that come through via SMS text, simply reply with “ACCEPT” and we will be officially connected!
Holiday Hours
Our office hours through the end of the year have been reduced so Christa, Justin and Angela can prepare for the upcoming tax season and spend time with our family through the holidays. Our temporary hours are as follows: Monday – Thursday, 8am – 4pm. If you need an appointment outside of office hours, tell Angela, and we will do our best to accommodate your schedule.
We will be closed the following holidays:
November 28-29 for Thanksgiving
December 23-25 for Christmas
January 1 for New Year’s Day
Fun Facts
- Abraham Lincoln proclaimed Thanksgiving a national holiday on October 3, 1863.
- The tradition of pardoning a turkey at the White House began in 1989 with George H.W. Bush.
- Americans eat an estimated 50 million pumpkin pies on Thanksgiving, making it more popular than turkey!
From all of us here at Wolfe to you and yours,
Happy Thanksgiving!
